"The Ethical Slut" by Dossie Easton and Janet W. Hardy, is a vibrant and empowering exploration of polyamory and open relationships. What was most refreshing for me was that the authors define polyamory and open relationships waaay beyond having multiple partners, inviting a third person into the relationship or each partner having a wild card now and then. So before you think “poly is not for me” so it’s not my book, give it a chance! I’m sure that this book will be useful and insightful in many ways, whatever form of relationship you’re in or not (yet) in.

With wit and wisdom, the authors dive into everyday but essential topics like communication, consent, and jealousy. They emphasize the importance of honesty and transparency in navigating relationships, offering practical tools to foster healthy dialogues. The book also tackles the intricacies of boundaries and personal autonomy. You’ll find yourself more eager to embrace your own desires while respecting the needs of others. This balancing exercise can be very challenging, but the book offers some very useful straws to hold on to.

One of the standout themes is the celebration of sexuality in all its forms. Easton and Hardy advocate for a sex-positive mindset, breaking down societal taboos and encouraging individuals to explore their identities without shame. Although you might not be in involved in certain types of relationships or love described in the book, through many shared anecdotes and experiences, the book is still very relatable. Easton and Hardy make the step toward non-monogamy or even thinking about non-monogamy a lot smaller. They open the door for a journey toward ethical sluthood fun and enlightening!

The book is not just anecdotal or just a manual, it’s an eye-opening and joyful invitation for anyone ready to take ownership of their relationships, redefine their personal values, and create a life rich in love and connection.

Having sex or not, having multiple connection or not, having a relationship or not, never been in anything else besides a monogamous relationship? It doesn’t matter, it’s a must read for all!
